Patriots in Progress. I saw it implied in the title of this article but then didn't see you discuss the subject...pretribulation rapture that I believe has led to Christian passivity. I've attended many different churches over the years and read books geared towards the subject of the rapture of the church. I've not met even one Christian who didn't believe in that theory!

Many years ago I came across an article that claimed this theory was invented by a Jesuit priest named Father Ribera. Knowing what I knew about the Jesuits, I thought it made perfect sense. If Christians believe that Christ will come to rescue them before the great tribulation, it tends to make them passive. They don't feel they need to prepare for anything bad because Jesus will come on a white horse and snatch them out of it. Darby was a pastor in America who furthered this theory.

In Jesus' parable about the wheat and the tares, verse 30 (of Matthew 13) says "Let them both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, 'First gather the tares & bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.'"

Patriots in Progress... I seem to agree with most all you say. If I find something I do not agree with, I will take some time to think about it and probably comment but I will do my best to make it like constructive criticism. I feel we grow with constructive criticism, it is much like edification of other Believers, at least, that is what I think. Blessings
